“As we finally came to the day of Persona non grata, something we have been looking forward to for what seems like ages, ”said guitarist Gary Holt. “We’re excited to share with you one final lyric video, my favorite song from the ‘Prescribing Horror’ album. A little story about motherhood and a drug, and what happens when greed comes before life and safety. The history of thalidomide. ”

Thalidomide was first introduced in West Germany in 1957 for anxiety, sleep disturbances, blood pressure, and morning sickness. Concerns arose in 1961 about birth defects after about 10,000 embryos were affected, and about 40% of them died at the time of birth.
